Care Guide for Maleri Yellow Peacock
Peacock cichlids are some of the best-looking and most popular fish in the aquarium hobby. There are over twenty different species and a multitude of different color morphs. These fish are stunningly beautiful, displaying vivid colors ranging from yellows to reds to blues. While we classified them as semi-aggressive because males can exhibit territorial behavior, peacock cichlids are relatively peaceful and their territorial behavior can be largely eliminated with proper stocking levels and aquascaping. They are hardy, easy to keep, and very active throughout the day, providing lots of entertainment and joy.

Peacocks are cichlids native to Lake Malawi in Africa. In the wild, peacocks are generally found near the sandy bottoms and around rock formations, swimming among other cichlids looking for food. An ideal aquarium would provide for the sandy bottom with a rocky aquascape and some open swimming areas. Good filtration and water flow are also recommended. Peacock cichlids will readily accept flakes, pellets, and frozen foods.
