Julii Cory is a small, peaceful, and schooling cory suitable for most aquariums and particularly those housing community and other peaceful fish. This cory's body is lightly colored in hues of white/gray and ivory with a multitude of contrasting dark spots and noticeable black stripe running the length of its body. The black speckles are also found on the fins.
Care Guide for Julii Cory
Julii Cory, Corydoras julii, inhabit small streams, tributaries, and shallow coastal areas of the Guama River, Maracana, and Mearim River in Brazil. They belong to the family of Callichthyidae. They are social fish, living in groups of several individuals, and relatively undemanding. They can be kept in a wide range of aquarium conditions and are ideal for mixed community aquariums because of their small size and friendly disposition.
|Max Size:||2.5 inches|
|Water:||72 - 82 F; pH 6 - 8|
|Temperament:||Peaceful and Social|
This fish will do great and exhibit the most interesting behavior in well-planted aquariums, with some hiding places provided by driftwood and rocks. Aquariums should also have some open areas where they can swim together in groups. Julii Corys are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of six, and preferably more. They are very active fish and will constantly swim back and forth, providing never-ending entertainment.
Julii Corys can be kept with many other peaceful fishes, including discus, tetras, dwarf cichlids, plecos, guppies, and many other community fish. They will readily accept a variety of foods, including flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods.
