These amazing coconuts are colelcted near Kingdom of Tonga, a Polynesian sovereign state and archipelago comprising 169 islands, of which only 36 are inhabited.
Our coconut shells with husks are suitable for any freshwater aquarium and absolutely loved by fish, especially plecos, corys, angels, discus and apistos, but also by shrimp. Serving as hideaway spot as well as breeding grounds.
It will not discolor the water and it will not alter pH, but its organic husk compounds will enhance your substrate over time providing your plants with an abundance of minerals needed for optimal growth.
The photo shown represents a random Tonga Archipelago Aquatic Coconut with Husk. As they are all unique you can expect slight variations in shape, size and color.
Awesome perfect size my fish love it.
I was expecting a small coconut husk that one typically sees in an American supermarket, but this coconut husk was HUGE! I have a 5 gallon tank which is too small for this husk. Also, it floats - it literally will bob right back up if it's not weighted down somehow -so that's something to keep in mind. This would look amazing in a 10 gallon tank or larger. Nevertheless, it still looks awesome outside the tank.
