Discus Care
While this type of fish can be kept in various aquarium environments, they will still need clean water, a proper diet, and stable tank conditions. We also recommend having no less than six fish in your tank, as they live best in groups and may experience distress when lonely.
Typically, adult discus fish range in size from 8-12 inches, congregate in the bottom or middle of your tank, and prefer water temperatures between 82 - 88 degrees Fahrenheit with pH ranging from 6.0 to 7.5.
Introducing Your New Fish
Once your discus arrives, we suggest gently acclimating them to your tank. Keep the aquarium lights off for at least a day and give your fish space to explore their surroundings. These fish will need a properly sized aquarium. Discus love to swim around plants, rocks, driftwood, and other botanicals. We also suggest you feed your discus high-quality fish food to ensure their health.
