Aponogeton Madagascar | Bulb
Commonly known as the lattice leaf plant, Aponogeton Madagascar has distinct lace-like leaves that give it a unique and delicate appearance. Bright green leaves undulate horizontally in the water as they grow up to 26” in length.
Basic Care for the Aponogeton Madagascar
This plant requires some special care to prevent algae growth on its leaves. Good water movement, good filtration, and some algae-eating fish or snails are an ideal choice to keep this plant in best shape. Basic care details include:
- Minimum Lighting Required: Moderate
- Temperature Range: 68-75°F
- Tank Placement: Midground or Background
While this plant may grow faster under high lighting, we recommend moderate lighting to reduce algae growth.

Madagascar lace bulb
Posted by Khloee on 6 Feb 2026Bulb came in good condition with some growth already (small but there). There were 3 growth points which was super exciting! One of the growth points already had a little root growing as well. There were blood worms that came out of the dead roots but were easily washed off since I don’t really want them in my tank. I was told they would be wrapped in newspaper to keep them a little warmer during the cold weather… they were not the baggies were just laid on top of a single newspaper sheet, which was doing nothing really. Anyways the plants arrived in great condition despite that.
