Description

Cardamine Lyrata

Cardamine Lyrata, commonly known as Japanese Cress or Japanese Ivy-Leaved cress, is a species of flowering plant in the family Brassicaceae. It is native to eastern Asia and is specifically found in Japan and Korea. Cardamine Lyrata has an attractive appearance, producing small, round green leaves that resemble the shape of ivy leaves. While the leaves are typically green, some leaves may exhibit purple or bronze hues.

Care Guide For Cardamine Lyrata

Cardamine Lyrata is easy to care for. It does not require strong light but, but will grow better and faster under it. Similarly, while a nutrient-rich substrate is not necessary, the plant will do better if planted in a good substrate. Alternatively, adding root tabs or liquid fertilizers will provide essential nutrients and ensure Cardamine Lyrata’s healthy growth

  • Minimum Lighting Required: Moderate
  • Temperature Range: 70-82°F
  • Tank Placement: Midground - Background

Under good conditions, Cardamine Lyrata can grow vigorously in the aquarium, so regular pruning may be needed to prevent overcrowding and maintain its desired shape. Trimming any yellowing or decaying leaves to promote healthier growth is recommended. Modern Aquarium’s aquascaping scissors will make this task a breeze. Since the plant can grow about 4 to 12 inches, depending on the light and other factors, it is most suitable in the midground or background areas of the aquarium

    Good quality
Posted by Mark Hudson Jr on 15 Jun 2020

There's a lot of factors that come into play when buying anything live online. From water quality that the store uses to temps in your area and the areas along the route. With that being said, everything arrived alive and in great condition. The only probably I had was on my end I received the plants and when painting them in the pond/aquarium I'm building I poked a hole in the liner with a knife that was dropped. So I'll be ordering a few that didn't make it due to me but other than that the plants were fine and the rest more sitting in a bucket are doing well.

Beautiful plant, propagates easily and has a lovely bright green that livens the tank. Unfortunately, my Mystery snails love munching on it, so I keep some in a rehab tank and transplant to the nano every now and then so I do not lose it completely.

    Vibrant and Ethereal

The two bunches of cardamine lyrata I received are stunning! The leaves are healthy, green, and vibrant. They've quickly adapted to my new and cycling 10 gallon and are growing SO quickly! Though the stems reached about three-quarters of the way up my tank when I first placed them in roughly a week ago, the new leaves are now peaking through the surface of the water, and I love the vines framing the back corners of my tank. I am so pleased. My fish love them even more. Thank you so much for these plants :)
