Description

Rotala Wallichii

Rotala Wallichii, sometimes referred to as Whorly Rotala, originates from Southeast Asia.  It exhibits reddish to brown to pink color delicate or needle-like looking leaves.  This plant looks best when planted in groups.  It can be used both as a midground or background plant.

Caring For Rotala Wallichii

R. Wallichii grows fast but may need regular trimmings to keep it nice and tidy.  The plants need moderate to high lighting and will appreciate regular fertilization.  When kept under good conditions and planted in groups, this plant will provide spectacular and contrasting pinkish/reddish background to your aquarium.

  • Minimum Lighting Required: Moderate
  • Temperature Range: 64-82°F
  • Tank Placement: Midground or Background

Rotala Wallichii does not require CO2 supplementation or specially formulated substrate. However, as is true with most plants, the addition of CO2 and planting it in a nutrient-rich substrate such as Rio Escuro will boost its growth considerably.

This is the second time around ordering these. The first time, they came in infant, really blossoming and impressed. The second shipment came in full-grown and vibrant. Bravo!

Plants arrived alive and in very good condition as well as the packaging. 4 stars because was expecting them to be more mature and established. But overall alive, healthy, and very aesthetically pleasing to my nano.

Plant arrived very healthy. Left all the plants we ordered in aquarium for 36 hours before setting them in the aquarium. All the plants looked very healthy and their was no wilting or browning after a week in the aquarium. We love this plant. It is a great addition to our aquarium. It adds such beauty.

I've ordered a few plants in the past that were beautiful, but this one wasn't. I'm hoping it will come out of it.

I was surprised how much I like this plant. It flows in the water so beautifully. Wish I would have purchased one more bunch of these. They arrived EXACTLY like the photo. Everything Healthy. They were dipped and added to my 20 gallon.
