Baby Tears on Lava Rock
Baby Tears originate from West Africa. The plant's leaves are thick, oval-shaped, and small. Baby Tears' bright green colors contrast particularly well against dark backgrounds.
Care & Maintenance
Baby Tears are tolerant of a wide range of water conditions, hardness, and pH. Baby Tears will undoubtedly look their best under ideal conditions which include good light and substrate as well as proper fertilization.
- Minimum Lighting Required: Moderate-High
- Temperature Range: 68-82°F
- Tank Placement: Foreground, Midground
Baby Tears is an ideal foreground plant and should be planted in open areas where it can have good access to the light source. It can also be attached to hard surfaces such as rocks and wood. It will look best if kept short and compact with regular pruning, using sharp aquascaping scissors.
Dwarf Baby Tears are also availbe on Coco Fiber.

Better than expected
Posted by Susan L. on 2 Oct 2020Very pleased with this plant/rock combo. I have the similar rock in a larger version with no plants attached to it. I was pleasantly surprised it "matched", so added bonus for me. I have had difficultly keeping this plant "planted" anywhere in my substrate in the past. Never thought to affix the plant to a rock... It is doing great in the tank. Love to see the pearling action - makes it sparkle in the tank. Easiest "planting" effort ever!

Delightful and met expectations
Posted by Melinda DeCoste on 8 Sep 2020I received these cute little beauties on brownish-orangey-looking lava rocks. They arrived slightly yellow in sections, but that's not surprising considering the humidity in Georgia. They look great in my 5 gallon tank: I placed one on top of the Blackwood (purchased on this site) and another one in the foreground on the substrate. They have been in my tank for a couple of weeks and are growing quickly.

Posted by Sean on 14 Mar 2020The plants are great, just 1 day in the tank I’m already seeing growth! However, the plants did not arrive on a Lava Rock as described but on a Coco Mat. A little disappointed for an otherwise great purchase... --Modern Aquarium reply-- Sean, thank you for the review and our sincere apologies for sending them on coco fiber mat instead of a rock.
