Description

Cryptocoryne Lutea

Cryptocoryne Lutea originates from Sri Lanka. This small plant produces green leaves with nicely contrasting red to brown veins and undersides.

Care & Maintenance for Cryptocoryne Lutea

Cryptocoryne Lutea will adapt to a wide range of conditions and will do well in most aquariums. Like most small Cryptocoryne plants, Lutea is found in shallow streams or rivers, often shaded by trees and other terrestial vegetation. For this reason, it is a perfectly adapted plant to low-light conditions.

  • Minimum Lighting Required: Low to Moderate
  • Temperature Range: 68-82°F
  • Tank Placement: Foreground

Cryptocoryne Lutea small size makes it ideal for the foreground area in your tank. It should be planted in small groups and allowed to spread, creating a dense group of plants. The plant will look better and grow faster if kept free from algae and debris. Either good water flow or small algea eaters such as Otocinclus spp., or scavengers such as Corydoras will help accomplish this task easily. Good substrate rich in nutrients, while not required, is welcomed and will result in faster growing and more lush plants.

Cryptocoryne Lutea is also available potted. Other Cryptocoryne varieties are also available, including Parva, Becketti, Wendtii, and more.

Honestly bought this plant as a filler plant but I am happy with it because it looks good. I like the long pointed leaves and the redish veins
