Hair Grass (Eleocharis Montevidensis)
Eleocharis Montevidensis, commonly known as Hair Grass, is found Worldwide. This plant produces thin "hair-like" leaves and forms dense carpeting clumps. The height of the plant will vary depending on the light conditions: brighter or more intense light will produce shorter plants.
Care & Maintenance
Hair Grass is easy to keep but it likes good fertilization and substrate. It should be kept clean of debris for best growth and appearance. Good water flow, housing corydoras catfish, in addition to regular "vacuuming," will help accomplish this task.
- Minimum Lighting Required: Moderate
- Temperature Range: 60°-80°F
- Tank Placement: Foreground, Midground
Well-established and densely grown plants can be separated and replanted which will further encourage new growth. The plant should be planted in groups.
Hair Grass is also available as potted.

Surviving well - very thick and plentiful
very cool plant, unique and looks wonderful with all my other plants that I also purchased!
I love this Hairgrass so much. The clumps are exactly what I was looking for and exceeded my expectations. A wonderful company and will surely buy from again.
I received a good amount and it was in great shape!
As viewed. Looks as good as it does online
Even with just 2 bunches, i was able to split them up even more to cover a larger area. Great quantity and quality!
This plant is thriving in my tank.
I was looking for something that would fill in the bottom of my tank and offer cover for newly hatched fry and chose the hair grass. it turns out it was a very good decision. After just 2 weeks the hair grass is really growing at a very fast rate. Most of the bunches have grown at least inches in about 2 weeks. Couldn't be happier.
Arrived quickly and in good condition. Planted them and they seem to be doing well.
These were the best bunches to date. Very healthy. Very bright green. Good root structure. Have seen new growth and expansion after just 4 days in our tank. Love them. About 8” tall. Great addition. I did not break the cluster down, but planted just as they came.
Love this! It was easy to plant in the substrate and appears to be doing well! Will be buying more!
cool addition in my tank visually; practically...my smaller fish (pencils neon tetras) really seem to like it as well :-)
