Hygrophila Difformis, also known as Water Wisteria or Synnema Triflorum, originates from India and Thailand. It produces finely branched leaves that have delicate appearance and are unusually and irregularly shaped. This unusual aquarium plant's leaf shape is highly influenced by aquarium water temperature and lighting. At lower temperatures the plant will produce smaller and thicker leaves but at higher temperatures the leaves will grow larger and more divided. In addition at lower intensity lighting, the plant's lower leaves may drop off and the spacing between the leaves will increase. At higher intensity lighting, the plant will appear more compact.
