12 Plant Package - (Hardy, No CO2 Required)

Was given this as a present. Some plants were labeled as "various", which is not helpful when I need to troubleshoot. The sizes of bunches were also smaller than when I have ordered from MA in the past. Glosso was included which is not a low tech plant at all. Die back is expected, but this plant immediately died away and hasn't come back after three months. All info I've found about it suggests it needs CO2. Three stars only for packaging and that the plants were in good condition, only minimally damaged as can be expected. Don't do a pack. Do your research and select your own plants that you're certain will work in your aquarium. When they throw in high tech plants that die the pack discount isn't worth it. --Modern Aquarium Reply-- Hi Abby, thank you for a thorough review. I would like to address and explain two point made in the review; 1- Plant packages are sold at much cheaper prices (per plant) than individually selected plants and the way we are able to achieve those savings is in lesser labor costs. While the plants in packages are as beautiful as selected individually, they are not labeled with their scientific names like when purchased individually, allowing us to cut down on labor and pass on the savings in form of lower prices, to you and other customers. 2 - I am sorry Glosso did not do well for you, but please know it is not considered a hi tech plant by any means. Please feel free to reach out to us so we can brainstorm as to what might have happened and caused its demise. Thank you

This is my second order with modern aquarium and I can’t say enough amazing things. First time I ordered I made a mistake with my shipping address and customer service quickly responded and fixed this, super friendly as well! . This time, I ordered this 12 plant package for my 30 gallon aquarium and everything shipped super fast and the plants came healthy and alive. No little snail pests and no plant material breaking off into the water during placement. I am so thrilled with my purchase and will be telling other fish keeping friends about this place! If you purchase you will not be disappointed.

All plants arrived healthy. But Jungle and Microsword started melting. All leaves are gone and the plant died. Cardinal plant also did the same but now I see new leaves. probably it will survive. water Onion same story. but I see it will survive. Customer service told me this could be due to light issue. I am planning to order new one. Currently using the one came with aquarium Aqueon 10 gallon. I let the direct sun light on the aquarium for an hour daily. I use fluval substrate and liquids fertilizer

Excellent quality and mix of plants.

I really loved the plants, they came looking fresh and were wonderful. My snails have tried to eat some of the plants though and the clumps died in my tank. Probably because I need a new lighting system for my tank which is coming in this week but that is my own fault.

I have had fish tanks for many years and have used live plants in smaller tanks in the past but am new to the aquascaping hobby. I ordered a 10 gallon tank and the starter pack of plants. Plants came quickly and were healthy and clean. I quarantined and have had no issues with snails or pests. This was enough plants to get started in the 10 gallon tank. However I was a not as impressed with the selection of plants. I did supplement and get 3 more plants for the tank, including a carpeting plan and 2 more with a bit more diversity in the leaf structure. Otherwise this was okay for a starter pack.

I really like the plants and it is a great idea and I am considering getting more in the future. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is I've had 1 plant die, but the rest look great. And I think adding a short list of instructions on how to set the plants in the tank would help a lot, like on a rock, in the substrate, on driftwood would have made me much more confident in setting my tank up. Other than that, I really like it 4.5/5.
